Infrastructure Business Development Engineer

Qualifications:

  • P.Eng designation is preferred;
  • At least 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with exposure to Senior Management;
  • Some background knowledge in production operations, processing, facilities, and pipeline infrastructure would be an asset;
  • Experience in assessing infrastructure needs for development plays;
  • Strong business acumen – (ie: big picture understanding & strategy);
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Driven and works collaboratively in a multi disciplinary team;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail;
  • Creative thinker with the ability to integrate various pieces of information to come up with a coherent picture and go forward plan;
  • Ability to work on various projects with different deadlines;
  • Proficient user of Oil & Gas industry software (ie: Geoscout, Accumap, Excel, Power Point, etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Understand long term development plans and the infrastructure landscape within each core operating areas;
  • Assess and evaluate potential end markets available with its resource development volumes;
  • Be aware of 3rd party activity/plans within each of the core resource areas and ensure infrastructure strategy is best looked after;
  • Work closely with internal groups to formulate strategic infrastructure options;
  • Build & maintain a “library” of infrastructure data & maps for core resource areas;
  • Prepare for periodic corporate strategy reviews, with focus on internal & external environment assessments, peer analysis and help determine appropriate go-forward strategies;
  • Identify, assess & pursue opportunities that help realize its infrastructure needs;
  • Identify, monitor and be aware of external trends that impact the business going forward.

Requirements:

  • Based in Calgary, the Infrastructure Business Development function is to collect and assess key information to formulate strategic infrastructure options and development opportunities, to ensure long term development plans can be accommodated from production to end markets.
